Estate Planning is Life Planning

2020 – what a year! The end of the year, and the promise of a new one, offer us a time to reflect, recharge, and refocus for the future. At French Law Group we continue to look for ways to innovate and improve our services to you. Most notably, probably for many of you as well, is the turn to virtual services. We are thrilled to be able to give you the chance to gain peace of mind over your family’s legal matters, all from the comfort of your home. Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s have a talk about you, your family, your hopes, and dreams. We’ll put all of that together in a legal plan tailored to your needs.

Estate Planning is life planning. As you look forward to the end of the year and the beginning of a new season, make sure that your estate’s essential areas have been addressed and updated as per the state and law requirements. Let’s finish 2020 strong!

Last Will and Testament

The Last Will and Testament is the legal document that forms the foundation of your estate plan. You get to decide who inherits from you and upon what terms. You also pick guardians for your minor children, ensuring that their fate isn’t left up to the government or probate court. With our help, you will state your wishes, name your beneficiaries, and protect your family. Wills must be kept up to date, so be sure that yours is in compliance not only with current laws, but reflects your current personal situation.

Financial and Medical Powers of Attorney

Powers of attorney allow you to designate a person to take care of you if you are unable to take care of yourself. A financial power of attorney grants authority to someone who will manage your personal financial matters during periods of time in which you are incapacitated. The advance health care directive is the legal document by which you name someone to make your medical decisions if you are unable to understand your physical medical situation and make informed decisions. Many people mistakenly believe the medical power of attorney is only for “living will” (end of life) situations. In fact, the medical power of attorney may be effective during periods of decline, such as dementia or ALS. It is important to think through the types of care you want throughout the phases of life.

Without these powers of attorney, a court will decide what is best for you. We don’t want that to happen, and we are pretty confident you don’t want that to happen either. So let’s have a conversation and make your plan.

Peace of Mind

Now more than ever, we all want peace of mind. Something within our ability to control through solid planning. A way to protect the ones we love. We are in the business of protection. We protect you, your family, your business, and your brand through legal planning. Let us help you with your will, trust, powers of attorney so that you and your family are protected. Let us help you with your business, so that what you work so hard for is secured. Let us help you with your brand through trademark protection so that your vision can grow.
